Boca Raton is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Boca Raton is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Florida's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Beware of the old, miserable & disgruntled staff at the office in the evening. Better parks for free nearby.

Great facility and great staff! Many new covered pickleball courts and newly resurfaced outdoor courts. Book ahead!!! Don't expect to get an open play slot if you do not book ahead of time--you won't! You probably can get an outside court without booking ahead of time (at least for now in the Summer). The staff could not be any nicer. Thank you Patch Reef Staff and the City of Boca Raton!

This facility has a lot going for it. There are plenty of courts, the covered courts are nice and there is a lot of high-level competitive play. I met a lot of nice people and enjoyed the quality of the games. The biggest downside is the lighting. It was poor enough that it affected play. Which was spoken about by many people there not just me. I also felt the drop-in fee for non-locals was too high, especially for only four hours of play. I’m a Florida resident and live about 2 hours away. I have played at many facilities all over the state and out of state and I’ve never had to pay a higher drop-in fee simply because I wasn’t local. My other disappointment was that one of the staff members I dealt with wasn’t very friendly or welcoming. A friendlier first impression would have made a difference. Overall, the quality of the play is was good, but the lighting, the non-local pricing, and the customer service keep me from rating it higher. Because of those factors, I would not recommend it to out-of-town players, and I don’t plan to return when there is actually very good play in the area that has no fee.

What a great experience and a lot of fun. Plus it’s great cardio. Just be careful to not break an ankle!

The pickleball center is one of the best facilities I’ve played at. With 18 fully covered courts, you can play comfortably in any weather, and they’re currently renovating another dozen courts, which will make the place even better once completed. The layout is smart and easy to navigate. There are two huge challenge courts that always bring high energy and fun competition. The remaining courts are organized by level of play, which really helps match you with the right group. The front 8 courts all use a single paddle rack (as of this review) and are geared toward more recreational play, making it great for newer players or those looking for relaxed games. The far 8 courts are noticeably more competitive, ideal for players looking to push their game and face stronger opponents. Overall, the facility is clean, well-run, and offers something for every type of player. I highly recommend this park to play pickle!
